RONALDO GAME HAS CHANGED AT JUVENTUS

Cristiano Ronaldo’s £100 million transfer from Real Madrid to Juventus was the biggest story last summer. The Portuguese captain had spent close to a decade at Madrid and it came as a surprise to many that the brilliant forward was leaving a club that had won three Champions League titles for a new challenge in Italy.

However, his first year has been good but not really great as Juventus were not able to achieve their aim of Champions League success but won the Scudetto for the eighth-straight season. A big reason for their successful season in the league can be attributed to Ronaldo.

The 34-year-old is the third top goal scorer in the league behind Fabio Quagliarella and Duvan Zapata which Is impressive as he did not score in his first few games for Juventus.

What looked like it was going to be a difficult stint for Ronaldo quickly turned around as the five-time Balon D’ Or winner started to prove his mettle.  Scoring in the league was never going to be the yardstick to judge Ronaldo as Juventus has taken a tight grip on the league in the past few seasons.

It was in the Champions League that the 34-year-old proved his worth, especially in the latter stages. Coming into the return leg at home to Atletico Madrid with a two-goal deficit and only a solitary goal scored in the competition.

Ronaldo did what he does best. Taking over the situation with a remarkable hattrick which constituted of two trademark headers and a last-minute penalty. In the Quarter Final exit to Ajax Ronaldo did his bit scoring in both legs but Juventus collapsed to a well drilled Ajax team ending Ronaldo’s chances of winning a fourth straight title.

As the postseason approaches the Portuguese would be rest assured that he has contributed his quota to the club in this campaign.
