Cristiano Ronaldo has scored his 100th Champions League goal since moving to Real Madrid. The Portuguese superstar scored from the penalty spot after Toni Kroos was pulled down in the box.

Ronaldo entered the nervy game at home against PSG with 99 goals scored since his world record move to Madrid. He has been impressive in the European tournament in the last few years and continued this term despite his struggles in the La Liga.

Following PSG’s opener through Adrien Rabiot, he leveled the score line at the stroke of halftime. The goal ensured Ronaldo is the only player to score 100 goals at the same club in the Champions League. He netted 15 whilst at Manchester United prior to his move.

Ronaldo will not hold on to that record for long as Lionel Messi’s tally with Barcelona, his only club though, is 97. With games against Chelsea and Barca favored to go through, there are opportunities for the Argentine to equal that record.

Ronaldo, who was the top scorer in the Champions League last season with 12 goals, is leading so far in the round of 16. He holds the record for the highest number of goals scored in the Champions League in a single season.

For now Ronaldo stands at 11 goals with Roberto Firmino the closest rival with seven. Harry Kane has scored seven goals as well, making a record as he reached the milestone in seven games. Neymar has scored six goals, as well as PSG teammate Edison Cavani and rated Wissam Ben Yedder of Sevilla. Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane have also scored six goals each, with their tally being favoured due to the 5-0 demolition of Porto.
